Dick, It is a fairly smooth operation at the CN Dock in Duluth. Michigan limestone/dolomite is brought in on a backhaul and unloaded from ships into a hopper. From the hopper is goes via conveyor belt to a stacker and is piled. Sometimes when a boat is being unloaded at a certain point, they can actually begin loading taconite while still unloading stone. The limestone is then railed north about 60 mi. to the taconite mines in the same rail cars that hauled the taconite pellets down. The limestone is used to make fluxed pellets, a more saleable commodity.
