I corrected that quote in another post below, I was also told that another shipping company, (now defunct since the early seventies) was alledged to have tried to muscle in on a contract held by another company (also defunct since the middle nineties) lowering the price $5.00 a ton for ore from Quebec to Burns Harbor, the Company is alledged to have refused, citing they were happy with the carrier they already had to carry the ore, makes you wonder what the rate was for hauling ore from Quebec to the Indiana in the seventies.
