LS&I switched to secondhand GE "U Boats" (U-30-C's) from the BN a number of years back, and the Alcos went to the Fox River Valley Railroad, now long swallowed up by WC and now CN. I heard now the even the GE's days are numbered as LS&I was testing secondhand EMD power. I never did hear one complaint from any CNW crew about their ability to pull.
