The wheelhouse from the Homer was removed and sat beside the hull as it was scrapped at IMS in the outer harbour scrapyard. IMS then scrapped William P. Snyder Jr. and the wheelhouse remained ashore until at least 1988. It was moved to Humberstone and assembled with a number of other wheelhouses and cabin sections from William P. Snyder Jr. to form a yard office. The whole setup fell into disrepair and everything was cut up for scrap in the late 1990s -
