I have a friend that worked on the White when she was owned by Oglebay. Apparently the White's automated unloading system limits the types of cargoes the boat can carry. The system, by design, easily accomodates ore but it can actually take longer to unload coal and certain stone cargos have to cause damage to the system. Hence, the Buffalo is a better "all-around" self unloader.
