CRH Cement, Mississauga Cement Plant
Re: CRH Cement, Mississauga Cement Plant
Ok, thanks. Their terminal here in Buffalo started out as Lehigh Portland Cement, then became Independent Cement, then St. Lawrence Cement, then Holcim, & now CRH. They used to get boats, but they haven't in about 15 years or more now.

It was was originally St. Lawrence Cement. Then the company was renamed Holcim.
Re: CRH Cement, Mississauga Cement Plant
That's correct, cement carriers do not typically visit the plant. Ownership was originally St. Lawrence Cement, then Holcim now CRH.

Ok, so its' shipped out by bulk carrier, but in larger loads that are handled by terminals like Duluth that have special equipment to take product from a straight decker I'm guessing? (Not specialized cement boats).

The plant receives:
-Stone-Robert S. Pierson dedicated run
-Slag-Algoma
-Coal-Algoma
The plant ships:
-Powdered cement/clinker to Duluth and occasionally the East Coast. (Algoma bulkers handle the Duluth loads, Desgagnes/McKeil the East Coast runs)

Does this plant ship product in or out by boat? If so, what boats do they load/unload there?
