If and when the Diefenbreaker is built it will be too large to fit in the Seaway locks.

Doesn't Canada get their first polar icebreaker in 2021 or 2022? The CCGS John G. Diefenbaker.

I guess we can confirm there will be no polar icebreakers coming up the seaway this year.

The Seaway announced today that the opening of the Welland Canal and the St Lawrence Seaway has been delayed to Thursday April 2.
