Found this. It looks to be an optical illusion as there are two bow anchors.

It has two anchor pockets, you're looking at a wide-angle photograph...

Is it just me, or does the bow design remind you of something similar to that of the Buffalo and Sam Laud?

The full slate of officers for Manitoulin is now on board.
Plans call for sea trials and if all goes well, back into drydock for final painting.
If plans go as expected Manitoulin could leave the first full week of October but it may be later.
A cargo (of stone) is required for the ship to make the crossing.
But an interesting note, she does not require strengthening likely because she's only about 650 feet in length.

A reliable source tells me the crew for new L.L.T. ship Manitoulin are in China preparing to bring her home along with boatnerd extraordinaire Paul Beezely. Not sure how long but they are bringing a load of stone as other new builts did .
