No better place to watch the American commerce than on the St. Clair river. Great pictures can be had just sitting at the river walk in Port Huron. Nice pic of the Hollyhock, looking like a boxer that went the whole 12 rounds. The entire CG stood tall during this bizarre ice season, but the I noticed that the Juniper class cutters pretty much stayed out the whole time. The Hock left just after Christmas and never returned much at all until last Friday. Same with the other Junipers. The 225s have the weight to break pretty heavy ice and can stand in for the Mac when needed. If you are fascinated by the sight of the big boys up and downbound, then you know why you are on boatnerd. In the digital photo age you can build a fine gallery of the shipping without much cost. Bet you have hundreds of them.
