I saw the Monrovia mentioned in the "This date in history" part of the news. This piqued my curiosity of the wreck and i was reading the Coast Guard report where she had no pilot and even worse no radar! In 1959 how many vessels were still operating on the lakes without radar? I know in the Scotiadoc and Burlington had radar when they collided in 1953 but they were both Lakers. Was this common for Salties of the era?
