I know nothing about sailboats but could this be a 30 square meter class boat? This database lists 7 of them in Port Huron

http://www.woodenboat.com/search/site/port%20huron

I assume this it the boat in question:

I had heard that but it still seems like to much of a coincidence that this boat would be right there. I do have a pic on my camera with the MC reg. no. I'll post tomorrow. Thanks

12 M boat Iris

In 1962 I was in the Sea Explorers and our troup had a 12 Meter boat named "Iris" docked in Sarnia. In June or July we left Sarnia for Macanac Island and got in a storm the first night out. Off Port Sanalac or Harbor Beach we lost our engine and we lost our sail. Long story short - we crash into and were rescued by the freighter Joseph S Young. The Iris didn't sink. In September I was driving through Port Huron and on Griswold St. at the river right accross from the YMCA I see what looks to be a 12 M boat in a fenced yard and under restoration. Is this the Iris? We asked the neighbors and at the Maritime Center and no one knew.
