Ken Borg, I saw your question about the MSU power plant railroad on another board that I don't have access to.
They auctioned off both the locomotive crane and the GE centercab diesel in 2014 through the MSU Surplus Store. The locomotive crane was cut up for scrap on site. I am not sure the deposition of the 45 tonner, other than it sold in September for $22,795.00 and had to be removed from the site within something like 15 days after purchase. Unfortunately I didn't notice either bid until after each had closed and been awarded. I heard later that the Coopersville and Marne might have wanted the trucks off the locomotive crane if they had known about the auction.
I wondered if Louis Padnos in Lansing might want the 45 tonner, since theirs was down to one engine a few years ago. But I think it has been fixed and I have seen no evidence of the MSU 45 tonner anywhere in the Lansing area since I last saw it at MSU this past summer.
