Paul- the Maple Leafs are a GREAT team. they have a very long history in the NHL and I always enjoy seeing them play against the wings. many great players in the NHL grew up playing hockey in Canada. I hope the Toronto team can find a way to turn that team around as they have many great fans who support and follow their team.meanwhile - let's cheer on The Canadians !

I can NOT believe that mr. I would build a billion dollar stadium complex 'IF' he thought the wings were a second rate team! there is only one cup and there are about 30 teams. that makes the odds 30 to 1 to bring the cup home. many games are won and lost on only one shot at the net. YUP - the wings future look VERY bright.

We will agree that we disagree on the Red Wings future. I hope you're right, but Red Wings fans and ownership will get tired of losing in the first round of the playoffs every year. Especially when you're up 3 games to 2 with game 6 at home. How'd that work out? If memory serves me correct a couple years ago they were up 3 games to 1 against the Black Hawks and they lost that series. The series might be exciting, but it's one and done.

yes, the wings future is bright. the lightening series , which went seven games, was decided by a single goal ( yup- one shot in game seven ) ! 14 out of 30 teams did not even make the play offs. the wings are a young team with loads of talent at every position. a new stadium complex is being built for the team costing the owner many million dollars. if you can't afford a ticket, they televise almost every game for free. 1/2 of all teams playing in round one of the play offs will not win the cup this year. the contract for the wings coach is up for renewal I don't think the owner will let the coach leave Detroit after they have made the play offs for 24 straight years. yes, the wings future could not be brighter !

Lucky they made the playoffs. Lost in the first round. Haven't won a Stanley Cup in years. Not sure the coach will be back. Future really looks bright.

the wings had a great play off and after making the play offs for 24 seasons in a row - show tremendous potential for many years in the future. many powerhouse teams from years past did not even make the play offs. i'd like to thank the entire team for a fantastic season. the future looks very bright for a great team.

In the NHL, 16 out of 30 teams make the playoffs each year. So the odds are a lot better than other sports for a team to make the playoffs.

Let's not knock down the Wings too much here! Give these guys credit though as they've made the playoffs now for 24 straight years in hockey. Tell me how many other teams rather it is in the Pro or College ranks that can say they've made the playoffs for more than 24 straight seasons? To me that is saying a lot right to that fact about how the Wings are managed, organized and run as one of the best and top franchises in all of sports. Yeah I know that they lost to the Lightening and it is a shame and would have been great and fun to see them win and move on further in the playoffs. But at least they got to the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs! How many other NHL teams out there that didn't make it to the playoffs are wishing they could be where the Red Wings were this year? So I say congratulations Red Wings on a great season and good luck and we'll see ya all next year. Go Wings!

wings play the lightening tonight ( 4-29-2015 ) for all the 'marbles' in game seven and a chance to advance in the play offs. the puck is scheduled to drop at 7:10 pm. this game will test the 'will' of both teams and should be a real 'barn burner' ! the game will hinge around the play of the young wings goalie and the amount of rubber the wings can get on the, so far untested, lightening goalie. both goalie's are in the play offs for the very first time and this will be a real test of their ability to play under pressure. no predictions from me this time but, you can bet your last dime i'll be in front to the tube tonight.

Unless my eyes are playing tricks on me today, did I see in today's paper and headlines that the Wings and the Lightning are now on their way to a Game 7 in the Playoffs? I saw the headline in the Detroit News while I was out to dinner today and wanted to make sure I wasn't seeing things? Missed the game unfortunately though last night sorry to say and hope to be able to watch the next game whenever it may be. Hey edm, I hope that you did not put a jinx on our Red Wings from your earlier post when you said "It is time to send the Lighting packing back to Florida!" I think the Lightning struck our Wings from the looks and sounds of it the other night. There is a saying and I hope that I am correct on this saying and it goes something like "Lighting never strikes twice in the same place!" If that's true, I hope then that our Wings can bounce back and beat the Lightning. Go Wings!

well wing's fans - tonight is the night to send the lightening back to Florida picking oranges ! go wings.

anyone see the red wings beat the lightening 4-0 yesterday ( 4-25-2015 ) ? can anyone remember a team shutting out another team twice in a playoff series ? go wings !
