Most of the major hotels here in Las Vegas participated - at least with exterior lighting. When that many places turn off that much juice at one time, it makes me wonder what kind of spike is hitting the power grid.

Just wondering if anyone really did participate in this? If I remember right, it originated in Australia back in 2007. Weird.
I heard the capital or white house blacked out for an hour don't remember which one of them, or both of them
Figures.

Sorry Lady Pirate - I was a bit busy wiring up new lights in the renovated "Man Cave" of my humble estate. Added another 2,400 watts of decorative lighting - and we tested them all during "Light Up the Night" hour.

What a fine invention Mr. Edison brought to us in the incandescent light bulb. And think of the advancement in society due to his efforts. Why, I would place it second only to the internal combustion engine.... but then again, it has a day all it's own doesn't it?

Reminder: About three weeks shopping time until CAI Day!

Unfortunately it has been a late night so I'll be a little tired celebrating Cylinder Appreciation Index Day. But the good news is I picked up a new water toy with four more cylinders. That brings the CAI up to 58.. Well surpassing my age. Violet, you've been given plenty of advanced warning. How is your index doing this year? How is everyone else's CAI?
