Denny-Happy Birthday!! Next Sunday I'll be 20 years older than you. My son, daughter, and son-in-law are taking me to the Tigers/Twins game at Target Field. Hoping for a Tigers win, but not counting on it.

Thanks Shirley for the birthday wishes. It has been a very nice day for me so far but, there were a couple of gifts I didn't get yet but hope to be receiving someday. Now, if only I can see my favorite boat the Paul R. Tregurtha yet this year! After this week though I have other important issues that may prevent me from getting to the river for a while at least. Just so long as I see the Paul R. before the snow starts to fly this fall and ice starts to form on the Great Lakes and rivers again. I have "never" had a year where I did not see the Queen of the Lakes and I don't want this one to be a first! As for how many candles are on my cake? Too many to count is my answer for anyone! However, I will give a very small clue though. Me and former race car driver Richard Petty have a small detail thing in common! I'll let you all figure out the rest!

Let's correct ourselves.

It's Independence Day ! We're losing the importance of the day by calling it 4th of July.

After all, we don't greet each other with 'Happy December 25th' , 'Happy January 1st' , or 'Happy October 31st, do we ?

Also for anyone else that may read this post, for years that I have been on boatnerd I have kept it a secret. However, now is the time to let you all know the truth. While we celebrate America's big day and birthday today, someone else will be celebrating a birthday tomorrow. Can anyone guess who might be celebrating a birthday tomorrow?

A very Happy Fourth of July to all of us Americans today across our great country as we celebrate our Independence Day today and also America's 239th birthday today as well. Hope that everyone enjoys the Fourth of July holiday weekend and please be careful and have a safe and Happy Fourth of July Weekend. Enjoy the fun and the fireworks, barbeques and everything related with the 4th but again, please be careful and "Think Safety First this July 4th!"
