When the river overflows the banks, the current slows down, and the silt settles to the bottom. If a barge goes aground the silt just keeps building up around the barge. Down around the Head of the Passes this becomes a big problem because the channel changes day by day. The Corps publishes new surveys daily and I imagine they have all available dredges working the passes at this time.

Case80, did you click on the white arrow (>) in the center of the picture? Do this and the picture turns to the live river cam shot. I was just on the site and it worked fine.

Is there any boatnerds that ck on the New Orleans web cams?For the last 2 months when I click on the River Cam, Bridge Cam and the Parade Cam It has the same picture that never changes.I,ve sent emails to the web site they say to contact them and never get a answer.Just wonder if any one else is having the same trouble or is it just my computer. Thanks
