The day began with a cool, foggy morning but quickly became hot and miserably muggy.

Although I had no idea of the source of the fire at the time, Spruceglen was headed into the smoke from the St. Clair Power Plant fire (dark gray band above the tree-tops) drifting across the river from SW to NE.
