The newsletters for the Willis B. Boyer website have most, if not all, the information for the conversions and renovations. The link to the website can be accessed on the BoatNerd site. All of the topside repairs, winterization, and restoration work have been done at the museum site since 1987. So, I would offer that a move to the Toledo shipyard might be for rivet replacement in the drydock. The Boyer sank, or nearly sank, at her site because of leaking rivets. The Liberty Ship John W. Brown was brought to Toledo from Baltimore because it was only shipyard, with experienced riveting crews, for this work. Around 14,000 rivets were replaced.

They're not restoring her to her 1911 appearance.

I forgot exactly when it happened, but I think she was rebuilt in the mid 50s. They're restoring her to her original name and the Shenango Furnace colors like she'd of looked from that rebuild into the late 60s when she was sold and renamed.

She has a new engine, added stern cabins, new stack and new hatches.

What will be done on the Boyer when she heads to the shipyard later this year? News page said 'restoration', but good news anyway.
