A few more departures today from Winter Lay-Up. The Roger Blough has left their Lay-Up berth at Sturgeon Bay early today and also in Toledo the Great Republic has departed from their Winter Lay-Up berth today as well in the early morning hours. Also in Sturgeon Bay, the American Courage got underway late this morning yet on Marine Traffic it shows them as arriving again during the lunch hour. I don't know and understand that one as if maybe they went up turned around and heading out through the Ship Canal or something else? Surely the Sturgeon Bay folks will have and know more on what happened here though. The American Courage though has not sailed since the 2015 shipping season as they laid-up in Sturgeon Bay in December of that year. So it is definitely great news to see her back out again and running! As far as I know the Munson is one of the only remaining ships yet to sail from Sturgeon Bay as she is in there now getting a 5-year and drydocking done and repainting as well. In Toledo, the Cedarglen and the burned St. Clair are both there as far as active vessels from the 2018 season that operated. That's all I have for now as far as Departures from lay-up goes. Most everyone now is just about out for the 2019 Shipping Season with still a few left in lay-up.

Both the Manitowoc and the Robert S. Pierson departed from their layup berths and the North Slip in Sarnia this afternoon. They were the last two vessels left of seven that laid-up in Sarnia this Winter. Manitowoc is headed to Toledo to load coal at CSX. I don’t have anything though on the Pierson at this time.

1925/08 Great Republic has been found in Toledo at Lake front dock. AIS is back on. Thank you.

1545/08 Misplaced the M/V Great Republic. Not picking up their AIS signal. Last seen in Toledo.

The Algoma Buffalo departed from their Winter Lay Up berth early in the morning on Monday, April 8th sailing to Cleveland, Ohio to load cargo. This now leaves only the Florence Spirit as the last remaining vessel from Hamilton's 2018/19 Winter Lay Up fleet still in lay-up in the port so far.

Cuyahoga departed from Ashtabula just after midnight today Saturday April 6th. As of 8PM this evening she is heading Northbound and just entering Southern Lake Huron.

She appears to have just maneuvered out of Sarnia as of 4:10 PM EST.

The Michipicoten left their lay-up berth and dock in Erie yesterday at the Donjon Shipbuilding and Repair facility. Also in Toledo this morning the tanker Algoscotia departed from the Ironhead Marine Drydock after it had received its 5-year survey and drydocking. Now with their departure it will be interesting to see next if the Cedarglen enters the drydock and it gets a 5-year survey and drydocking? They are currently outside and near the drydock area now laid up along the river near the shipyard.

Algoma Compass is underway from Hamilton and is currently in the Welland Canal heading for Goderich.

Update: 1425/03 MV Speer is upbound Pelee Passage with a speed of 10 knots.

Both the Great Lakes Fleet 1,000-footers Edgar B. Speer and now the Edwin H. Gott as I type this at 8:45 a.m. on April 2 have since departed from their Winter Lay Up berths in Toledo at the CSX #2 Dock.

The Great Lakes Fleet's 1,000-footer Edgar B. Speer departed from their Winter Lay Up berth this morning April 2 from Toledo and the CSX #2 Dock. This now leaves the Edwin H. Gott still in Toledo at the CSX #2 Dock along with the Philip R. Clarke at the old Ore Dock near the Coal Loading Dock. The Great Republic and also the burned St. Clair remain at the Torco Dock slip near the Frog Pond. The tanker Algoscotia is still in drydock at Ironhead getting work done on them as far as a 5-year and re-painting. Both Cedarglen and the American Valor are laid-up near the shipyard and also still in lay-up are the Manistee and the barge Sarah Spencer. Also up in Sarnia yesterday afternoon, the Algoma Niagara departed from their Lay Up berth and headed to Goderich to load salt. This now leaves only the Manitowoc, Robert S. Pierson and Frontenac as the only remaining vessels from Sarnia's Winter Lay Up fleet still there.

The ASC 1,000-footer Walter J. McCarthy Jr. has departed from their Winter Lay Up berth and dock in Toledo on Monday during the early morning. With their departure from lay up in Toledo this now leaves the 1,000-footers Edgar B. Speer and Edwin H. Gott along with the Philip R. Clarke and the Great Republic left in lay up from the Great Lakes Fleet. The St. Clair remains in Toledo as well and the tanker Algoscotia is still in the Ironhead Drydock yet getting a 5-year survey and repainting done. Also near the shipyard are both the Cedarglen and the American Valor with the Valor remaining in long-term lay-up along with the Manistee and barge Sarah Spencer.

The ASC 1,000-footer American Integrity has departed from Winter Lay Up early this afternoon in Toledo on their first trip of the 2019 Shipping Season. They are headed to Two Harbors next where they will be loading ore pellets all subject to change of course as far as their orders go but for now that's what the plan is. Still laid up yet in Toledo are the 1,000-footers the Walter J. McCarthy Jr. and also the Edgar B. Speer and Edwin H. Gott. All three should be leaving from Winter Lay Up in Toledo very soon. Also laid up in Toledo is the Philip R. Clarke and the Great Republic. The Algoscotia is still at the Ironhead Drydock getting their 5-year done and repaint as well and the Cedarglen and American Valor are both near the shipyard. The Valor of course is in long-term lay-up and the Manistee is still in long-term layup at the Hocking Valley Dock. The St. Clair still remains laid-up near the Torco Dock in Toledo. So far that's all I have for now as far as Sunday departures. If anyone has or knows of anything else please post it here. Thanks for all your help here.

Today Thursday March 28 departures that i can tell have been CSL Niagara from Thunder Bay, Tecumseh from Windsor, Algoma Harvester from Owen Sound

So far at least from my viewing and observations today on AIS there has been two that’s left Lay Up from my calculations unless of course I have missed some as is usually the case. The two that have left that I show and have so far today March 27 are the Ojibway from Windsor and just now at 3:45 p.m. EDT the Indiana Harbor is departing Toledo right now as I type and send this report in. If anyone knows of anything I have missed today please provide it here and thanks.
