The "round up" is not uncommon in the USCG. When I was in Kodiak I road the Buoytender Firebush down to Juneau for a very similiar exercise. Must have been quite a site in CLE. Mike

standuffer - Yes it was some sort of fleet week. All the vessels were here and all the flags were flying. But the PR department and website was quiet as a mouse. I only reported that there was a "rock star" in port when I saw the Mac arrive.

I respected the USCG privacy when they have all their eggs in one basket.

Sounds like the US and Canada are getting ready to re-fight the war of 1812. Canada is shipping its "inactive" submarines to the lakes and the US is amassing its cutters.

Just joking of course. Although another war would take the spotlight off Congress and the President's little dept crisis.

There is quite an armada of coast guard vessels outbound Cleveland this evening. I see via AIS that the Hollyhock, Adler, Katmia Bay, Biscayne Bay, Mackinaw, Bristol Bay, and Mobile Bay are all heading towards Pelee Passage at 1700 Friday (7/29). Only the Neah Bay shows up as remaining in port. Must have been some kind of big meeting here at Coast Guard headquarters this week. Can anyone shed any light on what might have been on the agenda?
