Two questions about the Boom to be used on the Interlake new build.
In the old days, the steamship lines would sell boats, etc.,... amongst themselves, but since competition is pretty stiff nowadays, I was a little surprised that American Steamship let a boom off one of their ships go to probably their main competitor. Or did they have no control over this, once the boat was sold to the Canadians?
Secondly, would not it been a heck of a lot cheaper to just lay that boom on the deck of a downbound Interlake ship and drop it off on the way down to the southern end of Lake Michigan? TIA
