Please note as well that at this point in time walleye magically become pickeral when they cross the river from the Michigan side to the Ontario side.

Growing up, it was called the pickerel tournament in Algonac. However, they fished for walleye. My guess is Algonac, as well.

I’d have to go with Algonac as Pickerel City at one time. They have the Walleye Festival and with the walleye once known as a pickerel it is a natural trade off.

I am interested if anyone recalls a place on the St. Clair River named "Pickerel City"? Besides wanting to gather miscellaneous info I would be shocked if anyone had a postcard, picture, etc. that they would be willing to share. I nobody replies with any knowledge I will eventually add information that I recall in hopes of jarring someone's memory. Good luck and let's see who really knows their SCR history.
