St Malachi's was/still is an Irish Catholic Parish, and it does do much good for the people. At one time, the mariners and the tug boat personell would attend Mass there on Sundays and Holy Days.
The Church steeple is quite visible due to the illuminated green cross.

St. Malachi's is indeed an active church. I did a workshop on prison ministry there this spring. They are known for their community involvement and outreach to the poor. Mike

In then mid-fifties we were laid up at the lakefront dock for a strike. At the head of the boat was a road used on Sundays by lopcal drag racers - mostly 55 & 56 Chevies. But beyond that and up the hill within walking distance was a Catholic Church. It mught have been St. Malachy but I'm not sure. Can anybody shed any light on this church? TIA
