I am gathering stories (anecdotes, memories, incidents) from current and former Great Lakes deckhands, watchmen, wipers, mates, captains, engineers, dock workers, line handlers, anyone who has had experience working with lake freighters over the years. They may be used in a future book I am putting together. They will most likely be edited, possibly rewritten, and individual names changed to protect privacy. If you have any interesting stories about sailing or something that sticks out in your mind, I would love to hear them.
