Guillen, Ordonez and Penny are all free agents and will not be re-signed. Two free agents who probably will be brought back are Joel Zumaya and Ramon Santiago.

It should be interesting to see what their plans are as far as second base and also what they might do as far as middle relief and the relief pitching. Brennan Boesch did not play much as he was injured down the stretch. Also, what of Inge, Ordonez and how about Carlos Guillen? Where was Guillen at this year as he was injured also most of the season? No doubt there will be some changes made and a few players given the pink slips. Just who?

The Tigers have one of baseball's best pitching prospects, Jacob Turner, in AAA and he should be ready to take over for Penny next season. I hope it works out!

For anyone that watched the Tigers bomb to the Rangers, my oldest brother said last weekend that he wasn't surprised to see it happen and the fact that two of their starters both Porcello and Max Scherzer were hot and cold and up and down all season long. Also, Austin Jackson needs to improve as he didn't do much in the leadoff spot, and they need to get rid of Brad Penny as he was terrible this year. Two positions both second base and pitcher definitely needs to be improved next year. Time will tell but, they should be fun and interesting to watch again next year for sure.

Once again, I'm happy I didn't actually bet on the games.

(But really. Who coulda thunk that Detroit would fold like they did. Sure, maybe you could predict St. Louis over Milwaukee, but Detroit should have won, hands down. I guess that's whay they play the games.)

Yes, I agree, and look at the money some of those people make, and don't even play a full year , like Mauer of the Twins! Wish I had a job that paid so much for me to sit on a bench!

Beecher I totally agree with your comments about fixing up the sports and the salary cap issue and it needs to be done in all the sports not just baseball. Hey I even got an idea since they are protesting the Wall Street stuff, I think we the sports fans and people of the U.S. & Canada should rise up and have a sit-out and protest some weekend with all the money the athletes and the owners make. Heck they're making more than our representatives and the President. A family of four now days can't afford the cost of going to watch a sporting event. So, let's boycott the games.

My hat is off to the Tigers. You took out the Yankees and their billion dollar squad. I've hated them ever since they took Chris Chamblis from Cleveland.

They need to make the salary cap even and clean up the sport. They need to make it so the kids want to play baseball again and not soccer. Geez! And speak English.

Well that is over so go Lions and Jahvid Best. I need touchdowns out of him!

When you have nine runs scored against you in one inning, and get outscored by 200 percent in the game, it's pretty hard to hang on. They had a good run. Better luck next year! Look at a bright spot. At least they knocked the Yankees out right away!

Well, it looks like it is all but done as the Tigers trail the Rangers by a score of 9-2 in the 4th inning in Game 6. Give the Tigers credit if they don't win as they had an amazing year and they gave the city of Detroit and their fans something to cheer about. At least there is always next year. Until then Go Lions and also I say Go Red Wings, Go Wolverines, Go Spartans and Go Tigers!

Isaac you are right when you said that it was Ryan Perry and not Brad Penny that gave up the grandslam homer a few nights back. I was out working on the computer at the time and I thought that it was Penny and not Perry they were bringing in. Don't know what I was thinking at the time I guess as I get the two of them mixed up at times. Now we only need to win two games in Texas.

Correction to my earlier post. I guess I don't know my Tigers too well as it was Brad Penny and not Ryan Perry that gave up the game winning grandslam homer to Texas last night. Sorry for the error and mixup on that one Tiger fans and everyone. By the way, I saw Brad Penny pitch twice this year and he did a terrible job.

Well, so much for my prediction of the Tigers beating the Rangers in 6 games in the playoffs. In case you missed it, the Rangers got a walk-off grandslam homerun in the 11th inning and beat our Tigers 7-3 thanks to Ryan Perry. Now with Ordonez out of the Tigers line-up, it doesn't look good for them now that's for sure.

Okay so the Tigers lost the first game to the Texas Rangers 3-2 but, I don't see any panic yet in the "eye of the tigers!" Let's not forget that the Tigers dropped the opener to the Yankees and then came back and took the series from them. I still think that the Tigers can come back and win the series in 6 games. This is the year of the Tigers and I know they can do it. Go Tigers!

Why not have the Tigers face the Cardinals in a rematch of the 2006 World Series? I see they just beat the Phillies and now are heading to the NLCS to face the Brewers. I think the Tigers and the Cards would make for a neat World Series and remember the TV networks love the best matchups for money, viewers and especially the ratings. Go Tigers and beat the Texas Rangers.

Six, then the same for the Tigers to beat the Brewers.

Some fantastic baseball so far this post-season. Made even better when A-Roid Ks away the Yankee season.
