Thanks for the update Jim B. That might be the problem because they have the tug Laura available in layup if it was only engine problems on the Dirk.

I think there must be a problem with her connection to the barge. She was in the notch the other day and now she is out and up at the head of the slip.

The Dirk's AIS is back on this morning (5/3)

Is it sitting at the dock with a cargo hold full of coal?

Perhaps maybe they could be in a lay up status at Toledo due to a lack of cargoes along with demand and business maybe? Just a possible guess only though on my part of it then.

Any update on the Dirk/MT? They have been out of service in Toledo with AIS off for 2 weeks now.

They loaded coal in Toledo on the 17th? and the morning of the 18th?, they left but shortly after departing they stopped just above the Torco Dock, backed down to the coal dock and backed in. I had been watching them and wondering what happened.

Is the Dirk out of service? They left Marysville on 4/1 for Silver Bay arrived 4/7 departed for Toledo IV arriving 4/16. From IV They went to Toledo CSX Coal Dock and now AIS is off. I'm guessing engine problems as the took several anchorages on their last trip and were averaging around 7 knots open lake.
