Very very doubtful. Fire of that magnitude and duration would have likely deformed the boom and probably did major damage to the steel, not to mention the internal belt system. Hard to think the age of the vessel warrants the reinvestment, especially considering they can go overseas and charter a hull for probably a similar price.

Not trying to cause or create a firestorm here it’s just my opinion and views only! I would NOT want to be taking my chances on an 80+ year old or so ship and especially when it has had two serious fires in a year give or take. Also, I would not trust and be a little concerned about the Cuyahoga’s hull condition with her age and the two fires she’s had in the past year or so. Put it to you this way, the Cuyahoga has had two serious fires in the past year or so if I am up on my info and correct right? That’s IMO at least two strikes if you will against her. I for one would not be taking any risks or chances on an 80 year old ship with two serious fires in the past year or so. Again, just my thoughts only on this!

I hate to say it, but having heard nothing about Cuyahoga following Michipicoten's issues, I'm inclined to agree. I mean, you'd think that there might be some effort to repair and fitout the Cuyahoga to pick up some of the tonnage capacity. But no. Nothing so far, unless someone has another news source than I!

Not to many months ago LLT had 6 selfunloaders sailing. Today ats 3. That being said what are the odds of the cuyahoga being repaired and returning to service?
