Just to add the Amy Lynn D mostly works with the Jacob Joseph C and Dowden spirit, most of often moving rock to their constructions sites. The former Ocean hopper barges are rarely used. The Sheri Lynn S is rarely used on its own to tow a barge, mostly when in the seaway or lake she is being re positioned or acting as an assist boat. She did bring a McKeil barge (chartered by Doornekamp) through the Welland recently which is an exception to what I just said.

Thanks Mr. Link as I do now recall and remember those barges that you had mentioned the Dowden Spirit along with the Jacob Joseph C and the Ocean Big Barges as well. I see the tugs Amy Lynn D and Sheri Lynn S often on the Seaway website and sometimes they could be pushing a barge and sometimes not. The tugs Amy Lynn D and the much smaller Sheri Lynn S (only one r) are owned by the Doornekamp family of companies, which includes construction companies and the Picton Terminal, as well as Doornekamp Lines which is trying to develop intermodal routes to and from Picton. Their fleet appears to include at least 3 dozen barges, although many appear to be smaller "truckable" barges used for marine construction.
Larger barges include the Dowden Spirit, the Jacob Joseph C, and 3 of the former Ocean Big barges (standard 195' by 35' inland river barges from the US that have been floating from owner to owner for years in eastern Canada).

The Amy Lynn D , Sheri Lynn S and Jacob Joseph C were purchased new (overseas) to support the terminal at Picton with ship assist, icebreaking, lightering and other services. That probably also includes moving cargo from Picton to other nearby ports, using whatever barge is most suitable for the cargo.

That said, one of their recent newsletters did note that the Amy Lynn D did tow Heidleberg Materialial's cement barge Metis to Oswego NY on June 25th and they were hoping for more trips this season for that client (Heidleberg).

In adding to my earlier post and thread regarding my questions of what barge the tug Sherri Lynn S uses when they are listed sometimes on the Seaway’s website, another tug and barge combo to add is the tug Amy Lynn D as they too will show up on the Seaway’s website at times yet the barge that they push is never listed on the Seaway’s website nor the one used by the tug Sherri Lynn S as well. So the point is, does anyone know or have any information as to what barges are used by the tugs Amy Lynn D along with the tug Sherri Lynn S then? I would appreciate any information on this that anyone may have and thank you as well.

Often at times I will see this tug and another one that may be similar to her listed in the Seaway and on their website. However, the Seaway’s website does not show or list what barge they are pushing. Does anyone know what barge the tug Sherri Lynn S uses? I cannot think of the tug besides the Sherri Lynn S that also shows up on the website of the Seaway once in a while? I think they might be owned by the same firm? They operate I think out of the Picton, Ontario area if that helps anyone. If anyone has any information they can give and provide on this it would be greatly appreciated and thanks.
