On this site they are in feet. If you look at Lake Huron (where I live in Alpena) it gradually gets deeper off of the coast into the 300-400 ft depths. For instance, Lake Hurons deepest depth is about 750’. A fathom is 6’, so other maps , such as those issued by NOAA start with feet until a certain depth is reached and then they switch to fathoms. Denoted by a color change on the map.

Sometimes when I look at AIS I put it on Charts. Are the depths shown in feet or fathoms? Thanks
