I was thinking that the Dool may be finished, as well. But, one thought I had was maybe ... just maybe ... Goderich Elevators may have bought it, and perhaps the Spruceglen, too, for long term use as grain storage. After all, if the Dool and/or Spruceglen are finished, why didn't they lay-up down the Seaway to await the tow to Turkey? On the note of grain storage, I think the combined storage capacity of the Dool and Spruceglen would significantly "expand" the storage capacity at Goderich Elevator at a pretty insignificant price tag. Especially in light of the costs to enlarge the current facilities - if at all possible - to handle another 2 million bushels. Historically, increased business demand and the inability to enlarge the facilities led Goderich Elevators to acquire the old Paterson boats back in the 60s, in the first place. By the way, are there any grain storage barges left in Goderich? It's been decades since I've been to Goderich. Just some wild thoughts, on my part.

Possible as the closing date for the Seaway right now then is set for January 5. So, I don’t know if they could then get up to Goderich then load a cargo and make it out through the Seaway before the closing date? One other boat the Spruceglen has been up in Goderich now since December 19 give or take and they could be in there for Winter Lay-Up possibly? I don’t ever recall them to load in Goderich before and I’d think the Spruceglen should have loaded up there and departed by now! Another CSL ship I see, the Oakglen is headed for Owen Sound this Winter for Lay-Up which will be a first for them as they’ve never ever laid-up there before! Not too often CSL boats lay up in Owen Sound either as they get mostly Algoma laying up there in the Winter months. Happy Holidays to you.

It's Dec 26 and Tim Dool is shown via AIS to be tied up in Goderich. Lay-up?

It is terrific to see the Tim S Dool has been on the move all day Sunday since leaving Quebec City upbound Sunday morning.
All being well and the steady 7 - 9 knot speed should put her somewhere on Lake Ontario when we check ais Monday morning.

Aha! Boatnerd AIS as of 1000h Thursday shows the Tim S Dool moored just west of Quebec City downtown. Good to see her where she was supposed to be headed. Bet the boys aboard will be glad to be sitting still next to solid land for awhile!

Tim Dool is downbound in or at the St. Lambert lock, 630pm EST, Wednesday 18 Dec.

She locked downbound through Eisenhower a day ago and is currently underway at 6 knots and is nearing Montreal.

I'm also curious about the inspection. Clearly she must've fared fairly well since she's not being escorted by a tug or anything. I suppose if she finishes unloading in time and takes on a load of ore before the Seaway closes, we'll have our answer on if she's damaged and requires work.

So...Tim S Dool...she was floated off the shoal on Monday and moved on her own power to Wood Hill anchorage to undergo inspection. She has disappeared from the B’nerd AIS map as well as other vessel location providers. If all was OK on inspection she should have made her destination, Quebec by now. No sign of her! Is Algoma keeping us in the dark? Is there a reason for her seeming disappearance? It’d be good to know how the ship and her crew are managing.
