I think you're right Denny. Indeed looks like 9th and 10th ships of latest series. FEDERAL NEW YORK presently at Trois Rivieres on her maiden voyage having loaded in Korea.
FEDERAL LEXI ROSE and FEDERAL WILLIAM PAUL will deliver to Fednav when fit-out completed soon so yes, they will be 2025 ships. Incidentally I believe they're named for Fednav CEO's children. Unusual if not first time for Fednav to name after people.

In response to TPS1 he mentions the two new Fednav ships built at Oshima, Japan as being numbers 8 and 9 of 10 Fednav ships to be built at Oshima the Handy Size Laker Class ones. From my information and calculations there are more than 8 to 9 I think that may have been built there since 2023? This is what I’m showing.

Federal Hamilton built in 2023 the first in the new series and class
Federal Thunder Bay also built in 2023 but first came inland as such in 2024
Federal Indiana
Federal Michigan
Federal Minnesota
Federal Ohio
Federal Wisconsin
Federal New York built in 2024 has yet to visit here so far
Federal Lexi Rose
Federal William Paul

If I have the correct information on my list, there should be 10 ships that I have listed then that Oshima has built for Fednav at least in the Handy Size Laker class series. Unless I may have missed a few of them, these are all the most recent to be built at Oshima since 2023 when the Federal Hamilton was the first to be built for Fednav in the new series then. Hope that my list and my information here has helped out.

Thanks TPS1 for your information and reply to my thread regarding the new Fednav Ships. You are correct as they are indeed built with Seaway and Great Lakes size in mind as on various websites they’re showing those two new ones to be about 200 meters in length and about 24 meters in width or so. By my calculations then, each of those two new builds should be 656 X 78 the same size as the previous Oshima built vessels that Fednav has built for Seaway and Great Lakes service. I do have one or two more questions to ask on each one. Both I believe it lists are built in 2025 and I guess one or both are out now on their Sea Trials then and will soon and eventually then be delivered to Fednav. I have a list of Salties I use from the years 2003-2024 and a new list for 2003-2025 salties and each lists includes renames and anything that’s been sold for scrap or re-flagged then. So, I guess my questions then to anyone is simply “Should I put the two new Fednav ships the Federal William Paul & Federal Lexi Rose then on my 2024 list of salties or not?” Obviously I would now put them in my 2025 list of course but I don’t know if Fednav had these two by the end of 2024 yet or not? Thanks for any help on this and very much appreciate as well!

Definitely Lakes-suitable. It's basically dimensions that dictate whether suitable or not. These two ships are numbers 8 and 9 of the new series of 10 sisterships from Oshima, which in turn modernised versions of dozens of previous ships starting with FEDERAL OSHIMA. It looks like both have completed seatrials and F L R should deliver soon and F W P in a few weeks if fit-out times go to norm.

That depends on what they are classified. There's Handysize Lakers which we get and then there's
Handysize Non Lakers which are basically the same size. Time will tell.

In checking out various ship tracking websites, I noticed that Fednav has added recently two new vessels from the Oshima Shipbuilding Company & Shipyard in Oshima, Japan. The two new ships are twins and sisters and are the same class and types of ships such as Federal Hamilton and ones similiar to that. Recently added to the growing list of Fednav ships are Federal William Paul along with the Federal Lexi Rose. Each vessel is about 199.98 meters in length or 656 feet long and 23.760 meters in width or about 78 feet wide. They both have four deck cranes on their decks capable of loading or unloading bulk cargoes. Does anyone have any further details or information as far as if these new vessels were built in 2024 or in 2025 and when they were delivered to Fednav? One of them sorry to say I can’t recall which one now, was on its Sea Trials from Japan recently. Surely at some point in 2025, we’ll be seeing both these new ships make their debut appearance then.
