These movies are from 1959, the first year the new St. Lawarence Seway was opened.
The royal yacht HMY Britannia had been used with Queen Elizabeth & President Eisenhauer in the opening ceremonies.
The U S Navy amphibious transport ship was part of a large flotilla of Navy ships that came inland that year.

Personally, I was able to make a Seaway trip that summer in July down to Seven Islands on Hanna's George M. Humphrey.
Secretary of Treasury Humphrey was aboard for part of the trip.
Dad was second mate.

The lack of trunk deck and that odd shack aside the funnel indicates one of Paterson's Swan, Hunter canallers: Kingdoc, Lavaldoc, Soreldoc, or Newbrundoc. The apparent name length leads me to say it's the latter. The saltie is obviously Concordia, then chartered to Cunard, so this dates the photograph 1958-1960. The Hall boat could be the 1954 sisters Hutchcliffe Hall or Eastcliffe Hall, but I think it is Frankcliffe Hall of 1952.

From a film conversion I believe is from the late 1950s or early 1960s. Taken mostly at Lock 4 on the Welland Canal. Can anyone identify the ships involved please? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_VOQwTNaVE
