Thanks for the update and information Mr. Link as that definitely helps and it was exactly what I was looking for! 👍 I did not see anything on Marine Traffic regarding them going to Saginaw so, I wasn’t sure if they made it to Saginaw or not? Not to go off topic and subject but, Marine Traffic definitely has changed their site and now more than ever they don’t keep any info on it for very long like they used to do. Thank goodness for all the volunteers here at boatnerd and the great reporters and contributors along with volunteers and also the Great Port Reports! 👍 Without all of you hard working volunteers and contributors, people like myself and others would not have any ways of tracking the ships etc. then. Thanks again to everyone. Cheers!

Yes, they docked at the Burroughs North (GM) dock in the City of Saginaw. Burroughs Material Corp. is a subsidiary of Edw. C. Levy.

Did they ever make it to Saginaw to unload? The information I have so far is that they left Detroit on September 1st I think it was, probably after they had fueled at Mistersky in Detroit? Now I see on Marine Traffic that they arrived at Cedarville on September 4 this morning to load. I’m confused boatnerds! Help if you can and have any information to provide. Thanks for any information on this.

Just to clarify what I meant in my earlier post regarding “Saginaw, Zileaukee along with Carrollton all not listed on the Marine Traffic site.” I believe they all are listed whenever a ship is going there? However, where it may get confusing to some is once they get to the Bay City/Saginaw area only Bay City and Essexville are both listed under the “Arrivals” section and part if I’m making any sense here? So, in the case of the American Courage they have Saginaw on their AIS listed. Once they arrive to unload, I don’t think then it is listed on Marine Traffic as arriving at Saginaw? As mentioned previously, to my knowledge only Bay City & Essexville are listed under the Arrivals section. Sometimes though I’ve seen a “Wirt Stone Dock” listed under the Arrivals section but I don’t know where up there that actually is located at then?

Ok Thanks Guest appreciate that and the update! I thought perhaps that the cement Dock in Essexville was still active but, I haven’t had the time lately to check in on the Port Reports section here on boatnerd lately. Just wasn’t sure at first of the Courage’s destination as sometimes on Marine Traffic they don’t list Saginaw. They’ll if I remember, list Bay City or Essexville but I don’t think they list Saginaw itself. Even Zilwaukee near Saginaw they won’t list nor Carrollton either. Just Bay City and Essexville are all that’s listed then on Marine Traffic. Thanks again for the update and information as well. Take Care and Be Well my friend!

Denny, the cement dock is still active in Essexville but does not receive any self-unloader cargoes. It is only used by cement carriers. The Courage's load from Cleveland in July did go to Saginaw, to the "GM dock".

Are they headed to Saginaw to unload or possibly Bay City? I ask only because I’m wondering if they have Slag from Cleveland, if they might go to Bay City to unload there? I think 🤔 ships have taken slag loads to Bay City from what I recall in the past. Perhaps the Slag load if they are carrying that, might be for the cement plant and dock in Essexville? Do they still have the Cement Dock and plant up there and do they still use and unload there? Thank You.

Definitely not salt… these loads are coming from the steel mill area. She did the same run at the beginning of July this year.

Slag perhaps?

Just saw on Marine Traffic AIS American Courage is currently departing Cleveland with a destination of Saginaw. What could she possibly be taking to Saginaw from Cleveland? My only thought is Salt. Years ago the ole Maumee ex Calcite 2 and Calumet ex Myron C. Taylor would bring a few Salt cargos to Saginaw from Cleveland. This would also be a new cargo for the American Courage as she rarely if ever has loaded salt.
Thanks for any information.
