That was not an Italian ship. It was a Saltwater Vessel or Saltie for short that was heading then to Napoli, Italy with I think it was a grain cargo or something. The vessel I think you’re referring to might have been the Heerengracht a brownish or red type colored hull salty that was coming from Duluth-Superior and headed for Italy. There are owned by a Netherlands firm and the ship is also registered from there too. Hope this information has helped.
