Speaking of fuel - can you imagine what the price of diesel is for the boats now? At the local gas stations diesel is about $1.50 USD more a gallon than gasoline. Remember when that stuff was cheaper?

I wonder if there will be supply issues as it appears diesel and jet fuel are in the shortest supply.

Speaking of two cents, that may be an issue. When I sailed, 40 years ago, the captains had price list for Imperial, Shell, and Sterling (no Mitersky but you could bunker in lower Lake Michigan and Duluth/Superior from bunkering vessels, e.g., Reiss Marine). Absent other issues (location, need for fuel, timing, next trip ports, ice, etc.) they chose the cheapest vendor, and it was sometimes a matter of cents.

I'm thinking that Algoma has a contract with Sterling Fuel to get their fuel from them instead of Shell or Imperial.

Yes they still fuel at the Shell Dock in Corunna! I’ve seen it’s mostly Algoma.ships that stop in there for fuel now though. Definitely not as many ships going there to take on fuel like it used to be that’s for sure! I too agree with you Jim as I was also very surprised that the Kaministiqua sailed from Sarnia to Windsor to fuel only then went right back up to Sarnia for a short stay before sailing to Thunder Bay where they are headed to now. To me at least, I would’ve thought it make more sense to just fuel in Sarnia rather than go all the way to Windsor and then return back to Sarnia anyway! Just my two cents, thoughts and opinions only.

Do they still bunker vessels at the shell dock in corunna? Why would the "kam" go from sarnia to windsor for fuel? I thought maybe they were loading at the elevator there. In the 70s we loaded corn at hiram walkers in windsor. That's a thing of the past
