In addition, a profile shot like this makes it possible to see the stack marking as well as the stern profile, which is that of a tug and not a typical "aft-ender".

The easiest way to pick out the Presque Isle is the enormous self unloader housing. The Presque Isle does not have a loop belt which is the most compact but rather it has a giant wheel that works much like a shore side reclaimer that deposits the cargo on the boom belt. All of this equipment is located on the barge so it sets the boom much farther forward than the average 1000 footer.

Name that boat

Could anyone tell me how to figure out what boat I photographed max zoom at a distance from High Rock Pt on the Keweenaw at about 3:00 pm Sunday 8/7/10, heading uplake in a mirage on the far side of Manitou, not cutting Gull Rock channel, rear white wheel house, brown flat body no white stripe over the bow. Not shaped like Lee T, but like Mesabi Miner. There is what looks like a white Roman I on the rear port. Maybe two words over one word over two words looking like an I at distance. Not a stripey Blough brother. Not James R. Barker, because I just photod JRB heading downlake heavy cutting Gull Rock on Saturday. I know I have to buy the book, I'll get in to SSM and get one tomorrow. Thanks to anyone who knows. -Lynn
