This is Guest from Toledo. I’ve been watching this post, your 2nd, for any replies. There have been none and I am forwarding this reply only because I don’t want any visitor to my hometown to feel unwelcome, unanswered, or slighted. We have tour boats & a water taxi, depending on the economy, in Toledo. None go where you want to go for too many reasons I’m not listing here.

Bob Vincent has posted pictures of AmVal in today’s Photo Gallery. Mr. Vincent has given us amazing port images, including both AmFort & AmVal in lay-up. All are available with a Boat Nerd search on the Home page.

There is an Annual tour boat/excursion/photo opportunity coming up for you on August 28 for both the AmFort and AmVal. It is the co-sponsored (Boatnerd/MHS Detroit) Diamond Belle excursion from Wyandotte to Toledo. Wyandotte is an easy (@ 45 minute) drive from Toledo on I-75. This is a reservation only tour. Details are on the Boatnerd home page.

The cost is a really good value for a “once-a-year” photo op for all the restricted and obstructed areas in Toledo. I won’t be on the Diamond Belle. I’ll be perch fishing, with my grandchildren, at C-can on a charter boat. My cost is $400 and getting bigger. Your cost is less than $100 with meals.

Good Luck to You, sorry you didn’t get replies, and enjoy your stay in Toledo. I’m old, traveled, and wouldn’t live anywhere else.

Toledo Boat Charter?

I don't know if anyone caught my post over in the Information Search, but I will be in Toledo soon and would love to get shots of both American Valor and American Fortitude, especially since the majority seems to think they are doomed. They are two of my favorite boats on the lakes. Anyway, does anyone know where i could charter a boat to take me over to them? I just want to go over there, get a couple of angles for photos, and that's it. If it's part of a harbor tour, naturally I would be fine with that.

Thanks!
