The *Kinsale* was reefed off Jekyll Island, Georgia, on 25 February 2008 after being abandoned at Jacksonville, Florida.

Blob, the tug "Gaelic Challenge" (not Challenger) now operates as "Western Tugger". Attached is a picture. Regards, Sean

Disposition of Tugs

by bhale849 » September 4, 2010, 6:12 pm

In 1990, I visited the Port of Indiana (Portage-Burns Harbor) frequently. During that year, I saw 2 Gaelic Tugs - the Gaelic Challenger and one which may be the Kinsale laid-up there. The story was that Jack Grey, who was big in trucking, and had formed the succcessful Stevedoring Company "Lakes & Rivers", had bought the tugs - planning to go into the tug/barge business. He then decided not to go into that business, so there the 2 tugs sat. What became of them? I have since seen nothing resembling the Gaelic Challenger so i was wondering.
