I recall the term "30 year throw away boats" being thrown about when mentioning a few footers built by Bay Ship. Well, all of the footers are fast approaching this landmark and seem to be holding out rather well. Are there any guesses as to how long the 1,000 footer fleet will ply the great lakes? I have not heard of too many mishaps except for the McArthy sinking in a slip in Duluth. What are the thoughts on their longevity?
