We were out watching the SBR and Tracer. It was windy but not too bad. The SBR seemed to be moving back and forth a lot in Lock 5. Might the Seaway have kept max length ships out due to wind direction?

Certain vessels, particularly the larger ones with large windage areas such as the Discovery, are restricted from operating in the canal when wind speeds reach a certain speed (it varies by ship - one foreign tanker, I don't remember which, is prohibited from the Canal when wind exceeds 22 knots) so that's probably the case.
