Thanks for the info on Port Maitland.

If I remember correctly, Port Maitland is West of Port Colborne (not very far). I recall driving there to see the remains of the Henry Ford II and get some shots of the Beechglen before the torch started on her. The Ford was about 98% gone at that time - they just had dragged the last of the stern onto the beach.

Why can't boats be cut up at Port Colburn as mentioned above?

Is the Port Maitland yard owned by IMS? I'm not sure where Port Maitland is.

Arrived at Wharf 17 of the Welland Canal today while the tugs move the D.C. Everest and tug Kristin. The Leader will then be moved to the scrapyard and cut up there.

Vanguard or LLT would probably be glad to have some of the vessels SMT is retiring right now, but the SMT companies are not likely to sell a vessel (however worn-out) to a competitor.

Departed around 1430, destination Port Colborne. Tugs are Seahound, Jarrett M., and Lac Manitoba.

The tow has been delayed, they are waiting for a pilot to arrive. New ETD is 1530. For those wishing to come down, Montrealais is due at the piers at 1440 and Tim S. Dool should depart soon as well.
