If I can remember correctly in July 1958, I was having a good time stationed at HMCS Stadacona. I was drafted to HMCS Sault Ste Marie which was up in the Great Lakes doing reserve training. In October 1958 we brought HMCS Sault Ste Marie back to Sydney, Nove Scotia, to pay her off. I think I remeber seeing the HMCS MooseJaw, there was 2 mothballed Corvettes at the time that where in Sydney. There was a terrific wind storm one night it hit the Moose Jaw on her Port side she was facing South, the wind was so strong it tore the bollard holding the forward ropes right from the wooden dock, next thing the Moose Jaw was facing west, with this bollard hanging from the ropes. According to the book HMCS Moose Jaw paid off at Sorel, was broken up for scrap in 1949 at Hamilton. I was told the light cruiser, HMCS Quebec, was there at the time, but I did not see her, although she was big enough not to miss her, unfortunately I did.
