sorry to rain on your hopes, but the vessel is in an advanced state of disrepair. Friends of the Norisle is planning to refurbish it, but it does not appear that she will sail again under her own power, unless the Friends of the Norisle comes up with the money to replace the triple expansion steam engines.

What's happening with the Norisle on Manitoulan Island. The last entry on its website shows that a study done on her indicates she should be converted to a cruise ship. That post was in July, 2010.

Does anybody have any recent news on this former car ferry?
