Nikon D80.

Great camera, but the images come out a little soft. Nothing some Photoshop know-how can't fix quickly, though.

In a non-SLR, I'm satisfied with my Canon S5. Current model is the SX30 (might be what Chris M referenced).

Canon came out with a 35x zoom camera. Just cannot remember the model number, but i've messed around with it and it takes great shots.

I don't know your price range but I would suggest my rig -
Olympus E 620 with the Zuiko 40-150 and the extra long Zuiko 70-300 - With the in camera image stabilization you can get some amazingly good shots with very little noise - I am by no means a pro but this outfit suits me well - You can find the E 620 kit at blowout prices lately-

I use a Fuji HS10 / HS11 most of the time for it's extreme long lens and versatility.

In extreme weather I fall back on my Sony DSHC7

The Fuji is nice but has a few quirks, I had to make a stepover plate so that I could leave my tripod shoe on at all times and still open the battery door.

Also due to it's wide angle capability you need ultraslim filters so it can see past the ring in wide angle shots. If you use a lens hood as I do you will also need to go to a flower petal style hood, or the same condition will be true in wide angle.

Olympus SP-570UZ Inexpensive shoots great Has 20X Zoom and 10.0 Megapixel Sometimes use a Kodak EasyShare Z650 6.1 megapixel with 10X zoom which is a great camera as well. Hope to upgrade to a Canon digital but for for now, these two are great

Canon Digital Rebel (the original one)
Canon Powershot S5 IS
Canon Powershot SD600 (occasionally)
Canon Powershot SD40 (rarely)

I use a Pentax 645NII as well as a Pentax K-X.

I just this week upgraded to an Olympus E 620 -
I was wondering what other cameras are used by the various photographers as there are so many marvelous pictures -
I upload mostly to the Fish Tugs gallery
