Today's news gallery was interesting - first time I ever saw a boatnerd meme.

I like contributing because I want people to see the things that I get to see, even though they can't be here & that's why I also enjoy looking at everyone else's photos from around the lakes. It's neat to see the boats I've always seen but in a different location & it's also neat to see the ones that don't come here. We have quite a bit of interesting scenery from beautiful, natural backdrops, to heavily industrialized surroundings here to take photos in. Not everyone is the best photographer, but keep on trying because there's always something to learn from all these captured images here & it's never a bad thing to post whatever you got. Happy New Year people of the 'Nerd, wherever you are!

I would also like to compliment and say thank you to all those who contribute to the photo gallery page. They provide an excellent documentary for everyone to witness, whether close to the Lakes or far away. Without all the contributors, this gallery would not be what it is and so valuable. So thank you to everyone who contributes their photos, knowledge or their time to produce and maintain such a wonderful website .... best wishes to all for the New Year

I would just like to thank everyone who submitted and sent their photos into boatnerd for today's news photo gallery. Those are some awesome and stunning photos especially from Marc Dease and both Ben and Chanda McClain. Those photos from Mr. Dease of both the Indiana Harbor and the American Century in the ice just about says it all. If only I didn't live so far from Port Huron and if it wasn't for the cold and the winds we get up there I would be right there in a minute to try and capture and image like that. As for the ones in Alpena by Ben and Chanda McClain, those are great shots especially of the steamer Alpena at night and her showing off her Christmas Light display. Great job at capturing those shots. Would also like to thank Mike Nichols on his photos as well from the Detroit River as those are also a nice bunch as well. Thanks to all for sending them in and keep them coming especially any that have the ice on them as I love and enjoy seeing those!
