I will always think of her whenever I happen to see her favorite the George A. Stinson as she forever called it pass by me while out on the St. Clair River or else at the Soo. If at all possible I will also try to get them to salute and dedicate to our dear friend also.

I still miss Lady Pirate very much ~ hard to believe it's been almost a year since she left us. You're always in my thoughts, Violet!:-)

I second that one Lighthouse Sherri as I miss our dear beloved friend Lady Pirate as well. Hope that she is in a much warmer area and place than we have been lately. Glad to hear as well that a bench is being built in her honor. 3 Long and 2 Short to our friend.

Thank you for the reply. The "Lady Pirate's" input to the discussion boards on this site was both entertaining and informative. Looking forward to any future updates and most assuredly the completion of this project! If one has not donated funds, please do so to honor this founding participant of the "Boatnerd" site.

February/March 2013 time frame there was a funding drive to have a bench installed on the St Clair Riverfront Park near Boatnerd HQ. I do remember seeing a report on the status of the drive; but I do not recall if the funding drive was successful. I will be visiting Michigan/Ohio this summer and making stops at the new Great Lakes Museum (scheduled to open spring 2014) in Toledo as well as the Lady Pirate Bench. Does anyone know if the bench was installed? Or the status of the funding drive?
