Your ship is a frequent visitor to the Port of Toledo. We love her and her crew. In the old days of the lakers you would have several days in port for loading and unloading. Do you get to leave your ship for any R & R when you visit your Great Lakes ports?

Hey Doug,

Saw you and the H. Lee White going down the St. Clair River on Saturday night. Thanks for the salute at Buoy 37!

My family has a cottage on the St. Clair River (Michigan side) just north of the Algonac State Park. Look for green buoy 37. We love watching all the great freighers go by and see your ship quite a bit. I'll give you a wave if I'm on the dock! Welcome!
Hi Doug and welcome to the forums. Hope all is going well for you and the other sailors on the lakes. Your boat is one of a few of my favorites, ever since I remember seeing it so often at the now defunct McLouth Steel in Trenton near the toll bridge to Grosse Ile.
Yea, I remember those days. We still get alot of ore, but we normally take it to Zug Island, or Toledo... Occasionally Cleveland.

Well, we're on our way to Zug Island right now with some coal out of Toledo. I've got to get ready for work...

Later, Doug
Hey hows it going on out the big lakes? just saw your boat a few weeks ago in muskegon. was a nice sight too see
Things are going fine here.... Yes, we were in Muskegon recently unloading coal. I just came on this ship this season. Last year I was on the Adam E. Cornelius. I think we'll get several loads of coal into Muskegon this year.

Hi! I'm new here and thought I should introduce myself. I work for American Steamship Company. I'm currently on the M/V H. Lee White working as 2nd Mate

I looked around this forum before joining - seems very interesting!

So Hello Everyone!
