I came across this webinar presentation document on the USACE website for the new lock under construction at the Soo.
From the pictures in the webinar document, it appears that the vast majority of the Sabin Lock in now gone and they are now at the bedrock level and have/will commence blasting operations of the bedrock in order to get down to the depth needed for the new lock.
The Davis lock is gradually being filled in with materials - which I assume are mostly crushed concrete and rock from the Sabin Lock.
