I know what you mean about the shorter daylight this time of the year Bookworm as I always hate that part of the fall season and the fact of the shorter days. Once I was at the river this fall in late October and I had to leave early due to the shorter days. Was in St. Clair getting gas before heading home and guess who was coming down in the park at the time? It was the PRT and I would have had outstanding lighting for the photos but, I thought I seen them enough times that I need to get the gas and head for home before it got dark as I am not used to driving in the dark. I also thought "I can get photos of the PRT anytime I am out at the river including next year." Thanks for answering my questions about shooting pics in the dark as I have never done it myself.

I would love to post some night shots and have tried to take night photos (can do videos just fine) but even on night setting and on a tripod or flat surface, unless the ship is moving very slowly, my point-and-shoot captures a blurred image. Now with daylight so short, I miss photographing a lot of the passing ships.

Hi Bookworm and Happy Holidays to you. Absolutely love those photos you posted today from the river and the ones taken from St. Clair of the traffic is breathtaking especially now that they have put the Christmas decorations up in the park. I only wish I did not live so far away from there as I tell people "This is the time of the year to be near the water as the traffic is the best and busiest this time of year!" Also, wish I could be close to the area and see the ships encased in ice as they enter the river from Lake Huron as that is a sight to see! Please keep up the good job and work on the photos Bookworm and keep them coming as I really enjoy and appreciate them. Can't wait to see more of them with ice on them as well and also, please continue to take some from St. Clair with the Christmas decorations. One last question to ask, "Do you ever take some at night especially if they are lit up with Christmas lights?"
