It might have been the Rt. Hon. Paul E. Martin which has hauled aggregates from various BC locations to the San Fransisco area in the past few years. I believe that its not a laker but maybe a panamax.

The MV Arctic visited Narvik, Norway in late December 1978. The weather was not extremely cold as that part of the world is moderated by the warm gulf stream.

The MV Arctic was not originally built to carry oil as well as bulk cargo such as ore or grain it was converted in 1985. See
